Another friendship card to show you today for a very dear friend from college times. You might know her because I talk about her often and have also shared a few scrapbook pages with our pictures together :) This is my second entry for CraftyJC Challenge# - Friends are Forever. The challenge requires us to send the card in the mail and this one is surely going to my sweetest friend :)
Supplies: cardstock: Elle Erre Fabriano!; stamps: Hero Arts (Speckled Ornaments), Kaisercrafts(Friendship Sentiments), Little Yellow Bicycle(Girl); ink: Jenni Bowlin(Brown Sugar), Ranger's Distress ink(Shabby Shutters, Barn door, Spice Marmalade), Unity Stamp Co. (Raw Sienna, french Lilac), Pigment Ink(blue, green);embellishment: Rainbow lustre Rhinestones(Pie Lane), Ranger's clear embossing powder
I know it is no secret that I am huge fan of Vicky's work and every single card she makes inspires me in some way or the other. This one is inspired by THIS card from her. An excellent way to use up all the scraps of cardstock :) This is my entry for Lily Pad Cards Inspirational Challenge#4.
I also kept the Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge#63 - Dare to color in mind while making this card. I do love some colors on my card :D
This one has a lot of embossing and distressing going on. I recently acquired my first ever distress inks and wanted to give them a go and they are really amazing. I know I still need a lot of practice to perfect the blending but again I am happy with this card anyways :)
Q&A
I have been receiving a few questions and requests through comments lately and since I haven't set my blogger to send them as e-mails, I do not normally get to reply to each one of you individually. I thought it would be better to share them here just in case you might have common questions :)
Q1 Are the rhinestones on THIS card adhesive or non-adhesive? - Khushboo Rathi
A1 They are non-adhesive rhinestones or better known as kundan stones in India. I bought mine from a local store. Not only are they in-expensive but also work really well to add a traditional Indian touch.
Q2 Tutorial on Notebooks? - Shalini Maskara
A2 I will try to come up with a tutorial(maybe a video) soon, girl! Waiting for my knee to be all set although its much better than before now. Find me wierd but I do my crafting standing :D
Q3 Are the scallops on THIS card punched or hand cut? - Tejal Shah
A3 The scallops are hand-cut as are all my shapes and labels(even the cardstock). Again, it might sound weird but I do not own any punches, trimmers, cutters or as a matter of fact any fancy scrapbooking tool (not even a heat gun yet though it has been on my wishlist for a long long time). I just get by with easily available alternatives :D
Q4 Is it a pattern paper on stamping on THIS party trio? - Priya
A4 It is stamping all the way. It is called tone on tone stamping(I used a yellow ink on yellow paper). Not even a single pattern paper in use on this party trio. Even though I love my pattern papers, stamping gives me immense joy(because I have worked hard for a long time to get it right :D).
What do you think of this Q&A section? Do you think it is something of your interest? Would you like me to make it a regular section, maybe weekly? Let me know I would love to hear from you :)
Hope you like it! Thanks for visiting!
