Watercolor + Fussy Cutting (Feat. Hero Arts)

Today I have a fun artsy card to share with you that I created for the Fabulous Flower Challenge at Hero Arts. Last month when I arranged my stamps, I found so many old ones that I love and don't want to part with just yet and still I wasn't using them as much. So I decided that this year I will start using my supplies better and show the old ones the same love as the new :)

I used distress inks as watercolors. I really wanted a fresh color palette for this card and when I stumbled upon this one on pinterest, I just knew I had to use it. Color palettes are a great way to get your creative juices flowing.

And I also have a video walking through the process of how I created the card :)

I hope you liked the card and the video ! Have a great day!

It's time for the  monthly HC alumni blog hop!

The winner of the blog hop will have 72 hours to claim their prize otherwise another name will be drawn.

I love playing with watercolors and when it comes to stamps, flowers are my favorite. For today's card I picked up the beautiful sunflower image from  "Sunflower Stem Cling Stamp Set" from the Classic Sunflower collection. I am in love with the way it turned out :)

I stamped the images on Canson Natural White Cold Pressed Watercolor Paper 300 gsm* with Old Paper Distress Ink. Then colored the images using Camel Student Water Color Tube* and Sakura Koi Water Brush*. I used the wet on wet watercolor technique and painted the flower and the background. I flicked some black watercolor to add a bit of splatter. Next I stamped the sentiment using All Occasion Sentiments Cling Stamp Set using Archival black ink and mounted the panel on a Hero Arts White Note card base using foam adhesive*.

I love how it turned out and I hope you like it too.

Happy Birthday Card | Altenew February Challenge

I love Altenew Stamps and their challenges are always awesome, so I always try to participate whenever I can.

Here's my take on their February Challenge. I love the inspiration picture this month.

I stamped the flowers using Altenew Persian Motifs Stamp set in Weathered wood Distress ink onto Canson Watercolor Paper and then I used some regular student grade watercolors and painted wet on wet around the flowers in blues and yellows. Once the color was dry, I used black to add shadow around the flowers. Then I flicked some more colors to create a splattered look and add more character to the background. I just used a clean wet brush to pull the color from the stamped image and a little bit of color to the flower. Then I stamped the sentiment and mounted it using foam tape. I also mounted the card using foam onto the black cardstock.

Thank you for dropping by today!
