MDF Tea Chest!

I have been loving my MDF from Craftslane for sometime now and I love to explore and experiment different ways of dressing these pretties up.

Oh and without a doubt, I love boxes. Actually they are kind of my first love (sorry DH, it isn't you :D)
I have had my eye on this 6 Partitioned Tea Chest from Craftslane for a while now. I think it would make for a great organiser. I can think of so many ways to use it. I could put loose change in it, maybe some jewellery, Aadya's hair accessories, buttons and sew supplies, or how about some Pot Pourri?

Here's how my box looks after I finished working on it <3 p="">

Here's how I did it.

1. Using Acrylic paint, paint the box in the colors desired. I painted the inside black and the outside in a shade of yellow. Let dry.
2. Give another coat of paint if needed. I did two coats on the outside and one on the inside.
3. Then using your choice of stamps(I used Penny Black) and Black Stazon ink stamp on the box. I sta…

Explosion Box !

Alright! I have to admit, I love explosion boxes, I love the surprise element they carry and I love the "WOW" factor attached to them.

I had the opportunity to make one for a couple's anniversary sometime back, and I love how it turned did they :)

I love that cake :) Do you?

Song in my heart!

January release Majestic Mornings from HC has the most amazing flower dies. There are so many things you can do and make amazing flowers in no time. Check out the HC blog for more samples and a video tutorial on how to shape flowers in different ways.

I took a break from flower making and focused on a bit of water coloring using distress inks. Super fun :)

Sweet and simple :)

Don't forget to check out the HC blog for some amazing projects.

Trinket Boxes!

I love the fact that Craftslane listens to what their customers want and comes up with such amazing utility products.

They have recently come up with these pretty trinket boxes and I think these are just too cute. You can use them to store your jewellery and they will look so pretty on your dresser. Or use them to store souvenirs from a memorable trip or maybe use it as a photo box to keep your favorite photos safe :)

This is how I decorated them

I wanted a rich feel so I used some metallic bronze color :)

I used some lovely mulberry flowers, lace, pearls and mdf embellishments to decorate the top and once I was happy with the way it looked, I primed it and then painted it. Finally I finished it with a coat of varnish.
Since I loved them so much, I made another. Here's one in copper :)

And here they are together. I am entering these for the current Challenge#6 - 3B's Boxes/Bags/Baskets at Color Conceptions Blog.

I love these, how about you ?

Heartfelt Creations Inspiration!

Have you checked out the January release Majestic Mornings from HC yet? It is full of amazing colors and perfect floral images. Check out the HC blog for more samples from the January release.

I did a set of 3 cards. The card panel in the paper collection make it so easy to put together quick cards that you need at the last minute.

Aren't they amazing? I love the January release, how about you?

Wallet Card!

So when I finished making this awesome vintage Chest of 3 Drawers last time, I had a bunch of paper scraps left. I love paper and I never throw even the tiniest of it away :)

So I decided to use the scraps and turn it into a wallet kinda card filled with lots of tags.

Don't you love how this looks so romantic? I used the fabulous papers from the Kaisercraft Tea Break Collection. The corners are accented with a corner die from JoyCrafts. I love how die-cuts elevate the project to a totally different level.

I then accented the front with a handmade lace flower and some mulberry flowers and leaves.
You can find a whole variety of mulberry flowers and beautiful decorative accents at Craftslane.

I then filled the inside of the card with whole lot of tags, all of them have their edges lightly inked with pink ink. Oh and I actually sewed the pocket to make sure it can keep the tags intact. I love my seldom used sewing machine :D

I am entering this card for the Kraft Zone Challenge#1 - B…

MDF Family Frame on the wall !

MDF products are so much fun and Craftslane has such a wide variety. Every time I work on one of their products, I fall in love :)

This family frame is one such thing, great to decorate and looks awesome on the wall :)

Here is what I did with it,

- I primed the MDF frame with white acrylic paint first. I gave two coats of it.

- I used the gorgeous paper from Kaisercraft Tea Break Collection with Modpodge (over and under ofcourse). Cut the paper along the lines of the frame. It will be a little tough to go inside the wordings, but a nail filer works great there.

- Then, I used a sand paper to distress the edges a bit and used a bit of Walnut Stain Distress Ink along the edges.

- I also used some awesome washi tape from the Craftslane store to accent and highlight some parts of the frame.

- And then some MDF embellishments and flowers to decorate the frame.

- Don't forget to add a coat of mod podge over the washi tape to secure it nicely.

And here is the frame with one of my favor…
