Thank you!

A big thank you as you guys continue to leave such fabulous comments, encourage and keep this blog growing. We are past 300 followers and 1600 facebook fans. How cool is that?

So it's only apt that I post a thank you card today, dedicated to all you guys who take the time out to appreciate what I do :)

I used the colors (Azure Blue, Gray, Cherry Red) from the current 10 Minute Craft Dash #26.

I finished this sweet mini thank you card in 9 minutes 46 seconds. I chose a simple layout to be able to finish the card way before 10 minutes and then no cookies for guessing, what took me so long. Fussy cutting those flowers, ofcourse. :)
Have a great weekend my friends!

Birthday Explosion Box!

Here is something that I am very proud of. This was my first attempt at a 3D paper cake and I adore how it turned out. More loved because I am not really a pink girl and this explosion is all pink and I still love it :)

Don't ya love that cake? By the way, I recycled the "Happy Birthday" from an actual birthday cake :D
I am entering this for the Lessology Challenge#29 - Birthday Party Lulupu Challenge#17 - Fancy Me (I fancy special fold cards and I fancy trying out new things) Itsy Bitsy Challenge - Pretty with Pink (Pink, pearls, pattern papers, posy, paper clips, photographs)
Hope you fellas like it !

Friends are special treasures!

As I said a while back, I have been wanting to playing along some of my favorite challenges for sometime now and let's say today is a start. Those who know me know that I love to stamp and I love to get more out of each of my stamps :)

So when I bought this tiny and beautiful rose stamp that I used in the card here, I knew it had more possiblities waiting to be explored.

I tried the watercolor effect with heat embossing with it and I love the effect. All I did was white heat emboss the rose image all around the watercolor paper to make a kind of frame and then went crazy with colors, no rules followed :)

I am playing along Lulupu's Fortnight challenge of stamp, emboss and color.

Hope you like it! Thanks for dropping in here :)

Baby Boy Record Book!

So I made this book long time back but never got around to sharing it here.

Nothing much to talk about it, photos say it all :)

Love doing baby projects! What's not to love <3 p="">

Thinking of you!

I am finally getting back to making cards and participating in some of my favorite challenges I have been missing out on for some time.

I used the sketch at Seize the Sketch Challenge#3 and the color palette at 10 Minute Craft Dash Challenge#25

Such a simple card and I barely made it within 10 minutes. To be exact, it took me 10:56 minutes by the timer to finish this. And while everything else came together rather quickly, fussy cutting that rose stamp ate away all my time :)

I used a Prima stencil and distress ink for the background, sentiment is white heat embossed and the stamp is colored with markers quickly :)

But I think I like the simplicity and the color palette of this card! And it is all the more special because of who it was made for. Read more about it HERE.

I hope you had a good Sunday!

MDF Round Placemat!

Are you bored of my MDF projects yet?

I don't know about you but I have been bitten by this mixed media bug and when I combine it with MDF, it just makes me happy. So whatever your answer maybe to the question above, I am not going to stop :D

Last week I worked on this round placemat from Craftslane and thought it would make for a great coffee table center in the living room.

Here is what I did with it. And I do not have the work in progess pictures for this project to share with you because I changed my mind about thousand times from birds to flowers to elephants and what not before putting it together and a lot of things added were impromptu :)

The process is quite similar to the one that I used when I made this peacock tray so I am not explaining it again here. But if you have questions, feel free to leave it as a comment.

I started the design with a big offset butterfly in mind and since I didn't have such a big butterfly stamp, I hand cut the butterfly, painted over it a…

Online live Workshop on Card-Making & Stamping!

I had missed posting about this here, so I am taking a moment today to talk about the live online workshops I started last month.

Ever since I conducted the in-house workshop in Pune, I had been getting requests for more workshops from a lot of different cities and countries (Ahem! it's flattering I know :))
Then I managed to conduct another successful in-house workshop in Delhi (More on that later!) but then I can't be everywhere and decided if I want to share what I have learned on card-making with wider audience, online live classes was the best idea.

We did our first free online live class last month and made some beautiful flowers.

And here is what we made live in the class :)

Aren't they pretty? If you haven't noticed yet, I used the flower on top in the card I posted yesterday.
The next live online class is scheduled for this Saturday and we are talking basics of card-making and stamping. We'll also be making 3 pretty cards live :)

There is still time to jo…

Baby Onesie Card!

Making a card after a long time was rejuvenating, I must say. I have been thinking of taking a break from big MDF projects and make a card for a while and this one turned out to be a cutie :)

When I saw Lisa's shaped card challenge at Yvonne's blog, I started digging in my die stash. Not that I have a lot of dies, I just wanted this card to be different and not use the labels die.
I decided on this cute Onesie die from PTI and get to work.

And here is what I made,

A sweet pattern paper was adhered with edges distressed and lightly inked with mustard seed distress ink. Then I used some pretty lace, pearls, button, ribbon and flowers to embellish it. By the way, the big yellow flower is handmade from scratch :)

I am entering this card for Crafter's Corner Challenge#12 - 321
3 Embellishments (flowers, lace, pearls, ribbon, buttons, brad)
2 Pattern Papers (the yellow one as the base and the green strip of paper as an accent)
1 Sentiment ("Welcome Baby")

Hope you lik…

MDF Oval Frame!

I think this has to be my favorite frame shape till date, I love that oval :)
And before we get on to what I did with this frame, I wanted to show you how awesome this Craftslane Oval Frame and the ease of using it.

Here's how it looks from the front

And here's the back

The back comes with easy to move 4 latches that allow you to easily place the picture or your work of art inside. I love things that are easy to use :)

Coming on to what I did with it.

I first painted the frame with aqua green acrylic color and then I did some decoupaging using papers from an old book, Mod Podge and a foam brush. I toned down the yellow-ness of the pages with white acrylic paint.

And then I doodled and doodled, so much fun :) All the designs have been made directly on the frame with black acrylic paint. Craftslane has a great variety and quality of paint brushes to help you

And then I hand wrote the quote on watercolor paper and gave the paper a light wash of watercolors.

And as the final ste…
