Shagun Envelopes!

If you follow me on FB, you must have seen these already, but I just wanted to share these shagun envelopes(we have a tradition of giving monetary gifts in India, especially at weddings ) with you here.

It is my maiden attempt at quilling (something that I find fascinating, something for which I follow numerous blogs, something for which I have watched lots and lots of videos, something that I have wanted to try for the longest time). Even though my quilling is not perfect, I am so proud of these :D

I made a pair of these in red and orange and I am showing off so many pictures just to make sure you don't miss out any pretty details(there are lots of little ones on these) :D

These will add that special touch to the monetary gift giving tradition!

P.S. I have a couple more designs for these envelopes to show that doesn't involve quilling. Will post those too in the days to come.

Polka Dot Baby album!

So polka dots is probably my favorite pattern both on fabric and paper, simply because of its versatility. It can work for just about everything :)

Here's a baby album I made using the Echo Park Dots & Stripes Soda Fountain Collection. All the embellishments used are hand stamped, colored and glittered {heart}

I had so much fun making this one and it turned out super cute :)

Here is a video, if you'd like to see it up close :)

Have a good day!

Another Quotation Frame on order!

I made this quite a while ago and completely forgot to share it on the blog :)
A lot of handmade flowers, few mulberry flowers and leaves, a few Pie Lane crystals and a hand written quotation on a textured brown frame :)

I think this has to be my most favorite from all the ones I have created so far :)

What's for lunch today?

I normally use this recipe for brunch (i.e. when I am too late on making breakfast and have no intention of making lunch :)) . This recipe is simple, quite fulfilling and good to taste, so why not :)

Make a spread like consistency with cream, semolina and finely chopped veggies (tomatoes, cucumber, onion, capsicum, green chilly, fresh coriander leaves). Add salt to taste. Spread on a slice of bread (both sides) and cook on a non-stick pan till golden brown and that's it.

Serve with tomato ketchup or dip of your choice!

Over at lulupu blog today!

I am sharing a very special project with a tutorial over at Lulupu blog today. Here is a little peak of what you'll find there :)

See you there!!

Never let anyone dull your SPARKLE!

Hey there, how was the weekend! Mine was fun and tiring at the same time. Today is the day I plan on spending taking care of my blog. I have been working on so many projects with tight deadlines in the past few weeks that I never got time to share them here with you. So all I am gonna do today is, schedule posts :)

Here is a frame I did for my bloggy pal Tejal (I had been procrastinating sending her B'day gift for ages and I wanted to make up for it somehow :))

Lots of handmade and mulberry flowers and leaves and I had to include butterflies for her {of course}. I think the quotation is so apt for her too :)

Alphabet Flash Cards!

Happy New Year to you all! I hope you had terrific holidays and a great start to a brand new year!
I had a bitter sweet end to 2012. On one hand my daughter turned 6 months old and on the other my husband fell sick and is still recovering. That's one of the reasons I haven't been around much here.

Anyways, I thought I start the new year on the blog with a super sweet kid's project that I did recently and loved it.

I made these fun little alpha flash cards for a 3 year old :)

And here are some of my favorites from the pack

The birds are from Varna's Stamp Set and they are super cute :)  The fishes are from a Hero Arts Stamp Set
I hand drew the Popsicle and part of cone. The scoop on the top is a Unity stamp The tree and the grass are from a Lawn Fawn Stamp set and the monkey is from My Cute Stamps.
I hand drew the nest :)
I doodled the back side of each card to represent numbers, colors and shapes. The alphas are Echo Park stickers and I used a lot of different stamps and h…
