Explosion box on order !!

So I have  been really busy with a lot of things happening around and I can't wait to share everything with you all but I guess that will need a separate post :D

Today, I am sharing my first ever explosion card made on order. I have always been scared of explosion cards simply because I hadn't tried one before this order came. Now I am so happy that I did because they are so easy and fun and have lots of space to go on a creative ride :)

Since I was doing it for the first time, I just stuck to one layer explosion box. I have used the gorgeous papers from EP For the Record 2 Tailored Collection.

I love the romantic and  shabby chic appearance of this box :)

Some journaling cards left blank for the client to write in their message :)

I had so much fun making this and I guess there will be more in the making, I might even give second and third layers a try :)

Entering this for the ItsyBitsy BiG 'B' Challenge (I have used bow, bling and brad) and Colleen's shabby chic…

Sweet Baby Journal!

I finally managed to whip up a journal to record everyday moments of my 3 month old daughter "Aadya". This has been on my mind for a while now.

Although I have been trying hard to record every little moment with my little one in my memory, things have already started to slip off my mind. The fact is that I'm just so tired handling her most of the time , I can hardly focus on keeping everything in my memory and that is where the idea of maintaining a journal comes in.

I have 12 sections for each month of my baby's first year in this jounal which I labelled using tabs. Lots of gorgeous Echo Park - For the Record(Documented) Collection papers, Fabriano cardstock, some gorgeous handmade sheets from Jaipur(I have been saving these for quite some time now) and 12 envelopes(one for each month) to hold more pictures or other memorabilia.

My plan is to jot down anything and everything that I would want to remember and look back later. Since I get my photos printed online,…

This used to be, a kitchen towel roll !

I don't know how long it has been since I recycled something and oh boy, I missed it so much. So when I saw the challenge at Lulupu blog and the It's a wrap challenge at Lessology, I knew what I had to do.

I picked up a kitchen towel roll tube from the HUGE pile that I have been saving to recycle and turned them into these cute birthday favors. They will be so perfect for a space themed birthday party :)

The idea isn't my original and I had seen these somewhere on the net, most probably at Marth Stewart's site and I had been wanting to try making these. They are super simple to make, easy to produce in bulk and can be used in so many different ways. I have shown you these has candy favors but use them as party decorations, table place cards, use them to display table numbers or how about label your food with these. The possibilities are endless.

And I am so excited to think of all the things to do with these rockets, that I am secretly hoping for my daughter to ask m…

What's for lunch today?

So here is something I wanted to do for a long time, share my food adventures here on the blog.
So lets just say I am a foodie and I love good food, well who doesn't?
I am fond of cooking and experimenting but please don't expect recipes here because I rarely cook by measurement(except when I try baking :) ). I cook by what looks right and feels right :D
I will, though try and share the ingredients list for sure whenever I can.

Today's lunch was

A layer of mayonnaise, fresh lettuce, potato spread, freshly chopped tomatoes and onion, grated cottage cheese and tomato ketchup!

"Aadya" says, Thanks!!

So, my 2.5 month old daughter "Aadya" wanted to say Thanks to all of her sweet Uncle and Aunts who have sent her so much love and wishes since the day she was born and her mom(aka me) is equally overwhelmed to receive so much love.

This post has been sitting in the drafts for quite some days now just because I didn't know where and how to begin saying thanks to all you lovely people out there who thought about me and my daughter in the past few months and sent us so much love and good wishes. We are truly blessed!!

I was so overwhelmed to see that even when  I wasn't blogging, all you people kept in touch with me through e-mails and messages, a lot of you even visited my blog daily, and I even found some new followers of my blog. How amazing is that? So I just wanted to say THANK YOU and give you all a BIG hug for being around.

I wanted to share all the little gifts and cards I received from my blogging as well as non-blogging pals.

The first card that arrived was f…

Prickley Pear Design Team Monday!

Happy Monday!! Hope you all had a great start to the week. Since its Monday, it's time for another Prickley Pear Monday card :)

Supplies: cardstock:American Crafts!;  stamps: Prickley Pear(Hibiscus 2 Clear Stamps Set, Daisy Cluster); inks: Jenni Bowlin (brown sugar), Distress Inks(Mustard Seed, Tumbled Glass, Walnut Stain); pattern paper:My Mind's eye, Echo Park

So if you haven't noticed yet, I made a stamping boo boo on this card. Somehow clumsy ME managed to stamp a perfectly straight sentiment tilted, and then sheepishly tried to cover that with straight lines. Yep, that's me :D (It was a perfectly good card and I didn't had the heart to throw it away, so the amendments :) )

And don't forget to check out what the PPRS Design Team has in store for you today!

On another note, PPRS has a Design Team call open now! That sadly means my term is coming to an end this month. I had such a great time with a fabulous team and great products!

You can read all…

So I have another card to share with you today! I have been missing out on playing along some of my favorite challenges and I wanted to change that :)

So I picked up the colors from this month's Hero Arts Challenge theme, sketch from Lawnscaping Challenge#41 and the technique from CAS-ual Fridays Challenge 69 - Embossing and created this little CAS number.

Supplies: cardstock: Elle Erre Fabriano!;  stamps: Hero Arts(CL520 - live&laugh, CG330 - Flower Dot Pattern, CG311-Small Sweet Petals); inks: Jenni Bowling (brown sugar), Versamark, Distress Inks(Barn Door, Spice Marmalade); embellishment: Mulberry leaves, Rhinestone; pattern paper: MME - Stella & Rose; embossing: Hero Arts White Embossing Power, Rangers Clear Embossing Powder
I absolutely love the way the flower turned out. I first stamp the flower with brown ink and then stamped the flower dot background with versamark ink. Clear embossed the background and used distress inks(had missed these so much whe…

I crafted.....finally :)

So I had been struggling to find time to craft with my home needing cleaning & organizing (being away for 3 months isn't fun that way), my younger brother visiting, maid being on leave for a couple of days in between, whole lot of laundry waiting to be done and not to forget a 2 month old, very active baby around who wants complete attention when she is awake :)
I finally crafted yesterday when she slept and I was so happy to craft after more than 3 months (feels like ages). I desperately needed the "ME" time.

As I was browsing some of my favorite blogs, I saw this weekend challenge: Mini Cards over at Penny Black and I knew it was the kind of start I needed. Nothing too big, just small mini cards :)

And here is what I made.

Supplies: cardstock: Elle Erre Fabriano!;  stamps: Penny Black(Hello Friend); inks: Jenni Bowlin (Brown Sugar);
Super fun tag shaped mini cards which can be used for any occasion from Birthday to Christmas.
I used "Hello Frien…
