Heartfelt Thanks!!

Hey people!! How are you? Did you miss me? I hope you did, even if only a little bit :D I am finally back after a long 20 day break from blog world and I am excited. My days with in-laws went great although a little hectic, but I had a good time talking, cooking and traveling :)

I haven't been able to catch up on all my favorite blogs and challenges and haven't been good at leaving comments at all of your work but I plan to catch up on everything this week.

Today's card is so not my style because it uses a lot of pattern papers but I was so inspired by Laura's "Thinking of you" card that I decided to scraplift it. Laura is one talented lady and I really admire her work.

Supplies: cardstock: Elle Erre Fabriano! ;Pattern papers: stash; embellishments: Wood Veneer Hearts from Sudio Calico, twine from stash, sentiment sticker from SRM

The card looks a bit crooked in the picture but it isn't actually in real. All thanks to my photographing skills - apparently I have a acquired a new talent of photographing perfectly normal things to make them look crooked :D I will do better next time hopefully.

A lot of hand-stitching because I wanted to enter the YNS Challenge#39 - Stitching. It's been a long time I played along their challenges. This is also my entry for the March Dare Diva - Color me Spring at Verve. Although I don't own any verve stamps yet, I love them and would love to be a proud owner some day :)

**Edited** for all those curious about the PP used. I received a big packet of mixed PPs as a RAK from Yvonne and actually have no idea what brand they are :)

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

Merci !!

Happy Sunday peeps!! Hope you are enjoying the weekend!! Well I was till my MIL called in morning and said that they are giving us a visit day after tomorrow for Holi. And then I realized I need to do so much in these 2 days - laundry, cleaning, electrical repairs, finish of my pending painting, grocery shopping and also need to check out some good recipes...please don't think I have gone insane...its just that my in laws are visiting me for the first time after marriage and I would like to impress them :D Ohh I am so excited !! And I might be MIA for a while.

Just wanted to share quick card based on Tiffany's Sketch TG010. I got Studio Calico products a while back and haven't had a chance to show them. So here it is.

Please forgive me for the poor picture, it isn't one of my best but I am in a real hurry :) These sweet ledger birds(love them!!) are rub-on from Studio Calico and the sentiment is from SRM. I wanted to try other sketches from Tiffany but well....you all know the story now.

I am off to some shopping!!

Hope you like it!! Thanks for looking!!

Thank You

to all my wonderful readers, followers and friends for their constant support and appreciation. Today's card is dedicated to all of you :)

I am following the Practicing Creativity Challenge Sketch. As much as I love PCD stamps, its sad that I don't own any yet. This sketch challenge seemed like a great opportunity to try and win some :D

Supplies: cardstock: Elle Erre Fabriano!; stamps: WPlus9 (Magical Moments), Mark's finest Paper (sentiment); ink: Unity Stamp Co. (French Lilac); Embellishments:White pearls and twine

I love the white-lilac color combo and I think this card is prettier in IRL. This photo doesn't do justice to it. I have stamped the outlined flowers twice(first prominent and then subtle along the edges) to give extra depth. I added some white pearls (I thought lilac pearls would have looked much better, but I didn't have any :( ) to the center of the flowers and wrapped some twine to finish it off.

I hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

A yummy treat!!

Who's in for a treat? Do you have a sweet tooth? Are you craving some yummy cupcakes? If the answer to any of those questions is yes....you are at the right place :D because the card today is filled with some yummy yummy cupcakes. Enjoy!!

Do you remember my first feeble attempt at paper piecing? Well, I think I have matured since then (what?? cupcakes are for grown-ups too..aren't they? :D) and thought I would do something better and bigger with paper-piecing. I wanted to put a decent entry for the Paper Piecing Challenge in the Moxie Fab World and Laurel's Challenge at Yvonne's blog.

 Supplies: cardstock: Elle Erre Fabriano!, Paper: Echo Park (A walk in the park, Little Girl, Little Boy) ; stamps: Ippity(Cuppy Cakes); ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black);

I kept the layout simple to let my paper-pieced cupcakes shine!! I also got a chance to catch up on some movies while doing all the fussy cutting so it was all gain and no loss :D. I am also entering this card for the All things Unity Challenge#26 - Birthday/Celebration theme and Simon says Stamp Challenge#-anything goes.

Do you like it? Do these cupcakes look yummy? Please let me know.

P.S. I still have one Ippity Cuppy Cakes Stamp set in stock. If you like, you can place an order by emailing me!

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

Not much to say other than I am falling in love with stamping (I used to hate it  not so long ago :D ).

A week in cards - day 6

Happy Saturday!! I hope you are enjoying the weekend as much as I am. This will be a quick post as I am heading out for some shopping :)

It's day 6 of our AWIC event and here's a card I made for the Hero Arts March Challenge - Birthdays, Stamped envelops and layering technique and Craft Away Your Days Challenge#15 - Black and White.

Supplies: cardstock: Elle Erre Fabriano! ; stamps: Hero Arts (CL384 - Floral Frames, CL401 - Speckled Ornaments, CL372 - Oceans of Joy); ink: Momento Tuxedo Black; Gauche Alchemy punchinella;

I have very limited Hero Arts Stamp (only 4 sets to be precise) so I make the best use of whatever I have on hand to enter their monthly challenges to be in the chance for winning some more :D (who knows I might get lucky some day :D) . For this card, I used some punchinella as mask and sponged with black ink and then stamped over it. I didn't have an appropriate sentiment stamp from HA to go with this card so I cut down the sentiment from Oceans of Joy set and created my own sentiment (clever...huh?).

Unity FWF Blog Hop {Mar 4th}

** This is my second post for the day. Please scroll down for the earlier one.

This is the first time I am participating in the Friends With Flair Hop and I am excited. I altered a brown shopping bag to make it into a pretty gift bag. If you remember this card from a few days back, the altered bag goes perfectly with it.

Supplies: cardstock: Elle Erre Fabriano!; stamps: Ippity (Totally Happy); ink: Momento (Black Tuxedo), Unity Stamp Co. (Raw Sienna)

I love the Totally Happy set from Ippity and have been exploring all possible ways to use it. I am entering this in All things Unity Challenge#25 - Alter it. How do think my altered bag turned out? Do you like it? Let me know :)

Thanks for visiting!! Your next stop is All things Unity and don't forget to check out their challenges.

A week in cards - Day 5

Its finally Friday and I am looking forward to a great weekend ahead. What are your plans for the weekend?

Its also day 5 of our AWIC and I am super excited to show you today's card because it features my newly (and the very first from Wplus9) acquired Wplus9 Magical Moments Stamp set. I was so excited to see the package in my DH's hands when he arrived from office yesterday night, that I totally ignored him and yes then he sulked for giving the stamp set more importance than him :D (But what do hubbies know about it..right ?)

I kept it simple and used the colors at the challenge hosted by Kathy (The Daily Marker). I am a BIG fan of her coloring skills. She is super amazing.

Supplies: cardstock: Elle Erre Fabriano! ; stamps: WPlus9 (Magical Moments); ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, Faber-Castell Markers;

 Nothing much to explain. I colored the image with markers (I hope the orange in the feather is visible :) ), did a bit of distressing on the edges and popped it up on Foam Dots. I am also playing the Stamping with Markers Challenge in the Moxie Fab World. I normally don't (almost never) color my images with markers but I thought to give it a try for this challenge and well it was fun and I am pretty happy :)

Here is the inside. Sorry for the blurry picture, I realized it only after I uploaded it here :).

A week in cards - Day 4

Hello people, the weekend is almost here and I can already feel the happiness inside me :D

Continuing with the week in cards event, today I am sharing an embossed card. I bought some cool Zing embossing powders sometime back, but since I don't own a heat gun I hardly ever use them. When Tejal wrote all about embossing a few days back, I got inspired :D

I created this one keeping the FTTC107 - Use green challenge in mind.

Supplies: cardstock: Elle Erre Fabriano! ; stamps: Flourishes (Kids Play); ink: Color Box Pigment Ink, Zing embossing powder;

Yeah I know, loads of embossing (I got really excited using the embossing powders and see them melt like magic :) ). This one is a mini card(3.5"X4)  and I again used my toaster(instead of heat gun) to emboss :) Along with the image I also sprinkled little embossing powder all over the sheet.

P.S. Don't forget to check out the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog. They have an awesome "Organization Week" coming up with some cool prizes to win!!

Today's card is a simple and cute one based on Tiffany's sketch (TG008) and I am also entering this card in Lawnscaping Challenge#4 - Paper Piecing.

Supplies: cardstock: Elle Erre Fabriano!, Paper: Echo Park (A walk in the park) ; stamps: Hero Arts (Oceans of joy); ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black);

Isn't that paper-pieced whale adorable?

A week in cards - Day 2 + a video tutorial!!

This is the day 2 of A Week In Cards blog hop. If you aren't aware of it, scroll down to the post below.

For my second card, I picked up my favorite Echo Park Papers and tried my hands at paper flowers :)
I am using Tiffany's Sketch TG007 (I made a small change for the placement of sentiment, I hope its OK :) ) This is also my entry for the All sorts week 92 - make your own flowers.

  Supplies: cardstock: Elle Erre Fabriano!; paper: Echo Park; stamps: Mark's Finest Papers; ink: Momento (Black Tuxedo);

Yes, I did the frame thing again :) And aren't those flowers pretty (scroll down for my very first tutorial on these flowers, I did it just for you :) ) This is also my entry for the Indian Craft Room first event - celebrating womanhood which is to create a card based on the animated card and base it on ourselves. I love the idea and I think the card above is totally me. Bright and fun, who values friendships and enjoys in the nature :D.

And now here is my first ever video for all of you!! Please be gentle on me, I did make some silly mistakes but I am learning :) and will try to do a better job next time. I promise :)

If you know of any tips and tricks to make video tutorials better, please help me by sharing them!!
