Bring on the Happy + Q&A(Friday Feature)

Happy Monday people! Hope you had a great weekend! Mine was super busy with outings and lunch at friend's place. It was fun. The rain and winds have been really bad over the last few days and took a toll on our internet connection. Some wire got ripped off and we were out of internet for almost 2 days. Its back now(all thanks to sweet DH :)) and I feel so much better already :)

Anyways onto today's card, its all about my love for heat embossing and Hero Arts :) I saw Latrice's fun challenge and wanted to participate. I found the perfect sketch to go with it at Card Patterns#131 and of course, I am playing along my favorite challenge Lily Pad Cards - Resist Challenge. This card is also apt for Wee Memories Challenge#66 - Simply Sentiments.

 Supplies: cardstock: Elle Erre Fabriano!; stamps: Hero Arts(Small Petal Flower, Live & Lauh); ink: Jenni Bowlin(Chewing gum, Cough Syrup, Brown Sugar), Rangers Distress Inks(Mustard Seed , Shabby Shutters), Colorbox(Frost White); embossing:Versamark Embossing inkpad, Rangers Super fine detail embossing powder(clear);

This time I was inspired by none other than Jennifer McGuire to try Kraft Resist. I love the outcome, all you have to do is stamp with VersaMark on kraft paper and clear heat emboss. The embossed image will be dark. Rub over generously with Frost White pigment ink from ColorBox (my fave!). Buff with dry cloth. The non-embossed area will turn lighter. Its really cool to look at.

Q&A

Q1 How did you manage to stitch on the petals without getting the paper bent on THIS card?   Priya A1 Its a work of patience for sure but it isn't difficult. I shared some tips on stitching sometime back. You can check them out HERE.

Q2 What kind of this brown paper is on THIS card?    Neha Jain
A2 It started out as a white paper, was then stamped and colored. You can check the video tutorial on creating this background HERE.

Hope you like it! Thanks for Visiting!

Diwali Wishes

Hello people!! The weekend is so near that it makes me happy already :D Finally I started on my Diwali cards for this year. I know I am terribly late but I am trying to make it up. For my readers who aren't aware of the Diwali festival, Diwali is known as the festival of lights and one of the biggest festivals in India signifying the victory of good over evil. This year we are celebrating Diwali on 5 November. We celebrate by decorating our houses, lighting candle, fireworks, lots of good food, and lots and lots of sweets (I love this part :D)

Okay now enough of blabbering, here is a card a made for the Moxie Fab World Challenge - Perfectly Placed Pleats  and Speedy the Cat's Friend's Challenge - Stitching

Look how the paper pleats make for the cutest candles. Doesn't that stitched sentiment look pretty too?

After I made one and liked it, I went crazy experimenting with colors, size, and various different things :D
Here is another variations I came up with.

10 things I love about you..

...thats what I told my DH yesterday as it was our engagement anniversary. One year back on 16th of May, we got engaged and I wanted to gift him something special and different and that is when I stumbled upon Monicka Wright's blog and decided to case her wonderful note card. I took the colors from Smidapaper May Color Challenge, polka dot theme from Lawnscaping Challenge. And I am also playing along Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge#56 - Get Sticky.

Supplies: papers: Echo Park Papers(For the Record);embellishment: Element stickers from Echo Park Springtime collection, Little Girl, For the Record, Walk in the Park, Twine from the twinery(charcoal)
I used one of my favorite Echo Park collection "For the Record" for this card and love the way it turned out. Added a little hand-stitching along the edges, embellished each tag with lot of elementary stickers from different Echo Park Collection and had the most fun writing those 10 things about DH. It made me fell so ble…

A year in review 2016 + Giveaway!

Hello,

As we step into the new year, I wanted to take a moment and reflect upon this past year which has been mostly amazing for me. 2016 was tremendous for me in terms of both professional and personal life. Yes, there were moments and events that I would not never like to experience again but today I just wanted to focus on the good and happy.

So today I am going to highlight my favourite projects and moments throughout this year. I also have a giveaway for you guys as a thank you for always being so supportive and appreciative. You always motivate me to do better and more.

I started year 2016 with this close-to-my-heart watercolor piece. This artwork is special because this was the first of the many! I fell in love with using stamps to build watercolor scenes and kept making them throughout the year.

This photo of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco has so many lovely memories from our big family vacation this year. It was fun converting it into a watercolor piece. Also this …
