Thank you so much for the overwhelming response on my GD post at Lily Pad Cards. I feel so wonderful to be surrounded by such loving and supportive people :)
So I thought I would share a few more pictures of the cards that I made and the challenges I based each card on. So for this first one, I took the sketch from the Stampendous September Sketch Challenge and the colors are from Hero Arts September Challenge.

Guest Designing at Lily Pad!

I hope you all are having a great week. I have been a bit busy with a lot of things going on all at once and hence my blog absence. This is going to continue for a little while but I will make sure, I pop in now and then and share some crafty-ness with you all.

First up, I am in the Top 4 (called Hoolalas) at Wee Memories for the Scrappy Saturday#68 Challenge. I am loving it.

Second, Today I am guest designing at Lily Pad Cards. If you do not know already, I love those girls (Deborah and Vicky) and it was an absolute honor when they invited me over for guest designing. I already feel like a celebrity..LOL.

I would love for you to visit me there and say hi and read a little bit more about me and yes there is some crafty goodness to soak in too :)
Here is a little sneak peak of what you will find there

To see the projects in full glory and know the instructions of making them, please Lily Pad Cards.
And last, I could not leave you without showing a project - lets call it a bonus project  …

Guest Designing and a Recycled Project!

Happy Weekend! I know, I don't normally post on Saturdays but today is a special day. I have been chosen as the guest blogger of the month at Kalalayaa's Art Studio and I have a sweet little interview over there. I would love for you to stop by and say hi and let me know what you think :)

Another reason is that I wanted to share another recycled project that I worked on a while ago and forgot to post about it here. And since its the last day to enter CraftyJC Challenge#9-Recycling, I thought I would do it today.

After recycling, old CDs, cereal boxes, packing cardboard, this time I went on to recycle egg trays :)

It started out with these - Egg Trays
Cut and painted with acrylic colors
And after adding beads and Pie Lane buttons, turned to door hanging. (Okay, my curtain rod is a little lose and needs repair :D)
So what do you think? I think they are pretty cute, you can make them as long or as short you like, hang them alongside your curtains and they will give a completely new l…

Sending lots of Happy Thoughts your way! + Q&A (Edited)

Edited: I completely forgot its Friday and day for out regular Q&A feature. Looks like I really am soaked up in work :D Added the Q&A at the end of the post :)

** I have a BIG Giveaway HERE

I will make this post a quickie because I have lots of pending tasks in my To Do list and I also wanna try to make Walnut Banana Muffins. I hope I get them right the first time :)

Today's card is based on the sketch at Lily pad cards Sketch Challenge, using my all time favorite technique of emboss resist which is again for the Lily Pad Cards Resist Challenge. I picked the colors from current Hero Arts Challenge and also attempted a window card :) And since it has no pattern papers, I am entering this to Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge#68

Supplies: cardstock: Elle Erre Fabriano!; stamps: Hero Arts(Speckled Ornaments, Live life), WPlus9(Magical moments); ink: Rangers Distress Ink(Walnut Stain, Barn Door, Shabby Shutters, Mustard Seed), Versamark Embossing ink; Rangers Clea…

The BIG Giveaway!

** This giveaway is now closed

I had been planning a good BIG giveaway for quite some time for celebrating the success of my little craft store. For those of you who don't know, I have a little store for craft supplies and handmade cards which I manage through e-mails and Facebook since the online store is not up yet. We are working on the online store and that should be up and running pretty soon. But still we are proud to say that we have completed 250 orders to about 50 customers in the last 6 months. And I want to share this success with you all.

After a lot of thought, I came to the conclusion that since we are celebrating the store success,it should be exclusive to the customerswho are the actual reason for the success.

Here is what you can win September/October Issue of Paper Crafts Magazine25 6"X6" Sheets of Pattern Papers(Echo Park, Basic Grey, My Minds Eye, Jillibean Soup, Studio Calico, etc)1 Unity Itty Bitty Stamp2 Packs of Pie Lane Glitter strips2 Packs of Pie…

I missed making cards in the past week but I enjoyed doing all the altered projects and the storage video! And I have a confession to make. I am not so organized all the time. When I started getting requests to show my supplies, I was so embarrassed with the mess that I had piling up everywhere and that is when I started sorting it out :D

Anyways I have a card to show you today and its a pretty one.
*Cuteness Alert*: Notice the little pearl necklace :D

Supplies: cardstock: Elle Erre Fabriano!; stamps: Lawn Fawn( Smitty's ABC, Sew Lovely), Hero Arts(Live life); ink: Jenni Bowlin(Brown Sugar), Momento(Dandelion);  embellishment: Pearls (Hero Hues), Mulberry flower
I took the inspiration from the lovely picture at Jay Gee's Nook Challenge#11. The text background was created using Smitty's ABC for the challenge#18- Getting Texty at Lawnscaping blog. And I am also e…

Guest Designing at ICR + Q&A

Happy Friday! Today is the first time I am guest designing over at Indian Craft Room and I am loving it. The challenges are now one month long and that gives you all the time to enter your creations.
This time around we have a Sketch with a twist...and this sketch has been designed for ICR byPiali Biswas...and the twist is to add felt/fabric.

And here is what I did with it :)

Supplies: cardstock: Elle Erre Fabriano!; stamps: Ippity(A bit of burlap); ink: Jenni Bowlin(Brown Sugar); pattern paper: Echo Park(Dots & stripes Candy Shoppe) ; embellishment: Pie Lane(Rainbow Lustre Crytals, Wooden Stitched detail button, Self-adhesive flower sticker);

Remember the chiffon sleeve from a dress on THIS project. I used the same here to make the flower. I have the hang over from the last 3 days of re-cycling and was thinking on the same lines :)
I love that Pie Lane Stitched details button in the center, its just the perfect accent. The pattern papers are from Echo Park Dots & Str…

Recycled Project Day#3 - A File Folder

Here we are with the third and final project of our 3 days of recycled project series. I feel happy to have turned something of no use to something to cherish forever. I hope you liked this series as much as I did :)

Today, I recycled a cereal box into a pretty file folder - perfect for tucking away all those paper scraps.

So I started with a box like this

I forgot to take the picture of the actual box. I picked this up from net, just to give you an idea.

And turned it into this super pretty file folder :)

A little post it note to label the folder, by color, brand, type or any other category you like.

Here it is without papers, I just covered it in pretty pretty paper and kept the embellishments to the minimum.

And woohoo, filled with all scrap papers :)

And a close up of the beautiful handmade yarn flower :)
Thank you so much for being here for the past three days when I shared my passion of re-cycling and its so awesome to see fellow crafters coming up with their own version using my tutor…

Recycled Project Day#2 - Birthday Reminder Book

**I am on Facebook now. I would love to see you there**

Welcome to the second day of our recycled project! I know I am a bit late(or a day late) in posting and I have a genuine reason for it. Hubby had taken a day off yesterday to take care of some pending stuff and hence my crafting plans were all trashed. We went out for a movie, had a burger in Mc'Ds and had a fun relaxing day instead.

Onto the project, it isn't something new but its my first attempt to re-cycle CDs. I have seen them converted into albums all around the blog but I decided to do it my way and instead made it into a birthday reminder book.

It started with this-some waste CDs and gorgeous Studio Calico Papers(circles are hand-cut :))

And after a couple of hours of hard work :D , turned into this- a beautiful Birthday Reminder Book  :)
Some of the month names have been cut off from an old calender and others done with alpha stickers  I think it would be a great birthday/return gift for someone who forgets your bir…

Recycled Project Day#1 - A box of batteries & charger

Happy Monday people! Hope you all had a great start to this week. I have been in a mood to recycle off late and thought I'd share 3 days of recycled project here on the blog starting from today.

Having a tech-savvy DH means a house full of wires :D - chargers, cables, batteries and what not. And that also means a cribbing cleanliness-freak wife aka me.
Today's project started when my DH decided to test my creative skills and gave me the assignment to make a box that will keep all the re-chargeable batteries and chargers in place and that will also mean a happy wife aka me again :D He had his requirements clear:
make it sturdyhave separate compartments for different batteries (charged/not charged/re-chargeable) and chargers.make it pretty
And so my search started to find a sturdy box and then I stumbled upon this - a sturdy crockery box !
The front The Inside
And my search ended. I first worked on making it pretty. Covered in pretty Studio Calico Papers to match the color of the ro…

ICR DT Call + Candies + Award!

Hope all of you are enjoying the weekend! We have a long one here in Pune for the Ganesh Festival. So the roads are blocked and the market is shut down and we don't really have anything to do :)

I AM BORED.

I don't feel like crafting either because the weather is gloomy(cloudy and rainy) and I am not at my creative best without sufficient natural light. So I thought I would share a few tits & bits with you today.

First. Did you the see the number of comments on my last post? It is 119 and still coming. Oh, I love blog hops :)

Second. The first ever DT call is up at Indian Craft Room - the first and the only Indian Crafter Community. Applications from all around the world are acceptable and you can read all the details HERE. Don't forget to give it a shot.

Third. A few candies - I want to give a shout out to. There is one by Amy at A thousand sheets of Paper.
She is giving away 1000 sheets of paper along with awesome stamps and there are so many chances to win. So make sur…

All the details can be found on the Lawnscaping home page.

Supplies: cardstock: Elle Erre Fabriano!; stamps: Lawn Fawn(Smitty's ABC, Sew Lovely); ink: Jenni Bowlin(Cough Syrup, Chewing gum), Momento(Tuxedo Black), Versamark ink ; embellishment: Pie Lane(Rainbow Lustre Crytals, Wooden button, Donut);
I went quite crazy with the ink on this one. I didn't want to blend the ink too much, and wanted the ink strokes to be visible. I like i…

Thursday Tutorial#2: Recycled Notebook

So I have finally decided that Thursday will be a tutorial day here on this blog. I have lots of tricks, tips and  techniques that I want to share with you and I think one tutorial a week is a fairly good idea. And I am not limiting myself to just videos here. There will be picture tutorials, DIYs, product demos(on request) and ofcourse videos. So keep the tutorial requests coming :)

I already shared the very first video tutorial in the series last Thursday on woodgrain background. Check it out if you haven't done it already :)

Today I have a picture tutorial on the recycled notebooks I shared HERE. They are super easy and fun to make and the best part is that they are recycled :)

I have always loved recycling but these days I have been super-inspired to recycle because of some of my loved challenges. First is the newly started LESSology Challenge#1 - The Altered Book (I love the talented people on the team there), second is the Recycle with Lynn Challenge at Yvonne's blog and…
