You are sew CrafTy!

Weekend is just around the corner and I am excited because the weather is great with the rain pouring in and weekend would be ideal for a small getaway with DH :)

Today I am sharing a card using the colors from Color Cue {16} and the inspiration comes from the Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab World. I was so excited those colorful spools of thread because I knew my recently purchased Lawn Fawn Sew Lovely set has a cute spool stamp :D

Supplies: cardstock: Elle Erre Fabriano!; stamps: Lawn Fawn (Sew lovely,Smitty's ABC),; ink: Momento (Tuxedo Black), Unity Co. (French lilac);  Embellishments: Maya Road Chipboards (Brackets),embroidery floss

For this card, I stamped the spool on craft paper, cut it out and wrapped the embroidery floss around them. Then I stamped the needle from the same set and inserted it in the spool. For the sentiment, I masked of lovely and used the alphabet stamp set to add Crafty.  To finish off the card, I added brackets from Maya Road.  And with all the spool of threads and a needle, this card fits perfectly for the I'm Sew Excited! Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.
Here is a closeup of the lovely spools

And before I sign off, I wanted to thank all of you for the tremendous response on my Guest Blogger post at Do More With Less. Your feedback and appreciation really means a lot to me.

I would love for you to play along my challenge. Please remember that you can use any kind of embossing - dry or wet. And here is a small tip if you do not have embossing powder or cuttlebug, you can scor your paper to achieve embossing. Check out my card here using the same technique. I hope you got the hint. *wink*

Diwali Wishes

Hello people!! The weekend is so near that it makes me happy already :D Finally I started on my Diwali cards for this year. I know I am terribly late but I am trying to make it up. For my readers who aren't aware of the Diwali festival, Diwali is known as the festival of lights and one of the biggest festivals in India signifying the victory of good over evil. This year we are celebrating Diwali on 5 November. We celebrate by decorating our houses, lighting candle, fireworks, lots of good food, and lots and lots of sweets (I love this part :D)

Okay now enough of blabbering, here is a card a made for the Moxie Fab World Challenge - Perfectly Placed Pleats  and Speedy the Cat's Friend's Challenge - Stitching

Look how the paper pleats make for the cutest candles. Doesn't that stitched sentiment look pretty too?

After I made one and liked it, I went crazy experimenting with colors, size, and various different things :D
Here is another variations I came up with.

10 things I love about you..

...thats what I told my DH yesterday as it was our engagement anniversary. One year back on 16th of May, we got engaged and I wanted to gift him something special and different and that is when I stumbled upon Monicka Wright's blog and decided to case her wonderful note card. I took the colors from Smidapaper May Color Challenge, polka dot theme from Lawnscaping Challenge. And I am also playing along Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge#56 - Get Sticky.

Supplies: papers: Echo Park Papers(For the Record);embellishment: Element stickers from Echo Park Springtime collection, Little Girl, For the Record, Walk in the Park, Twine from the twinery(charcoal)
I used one of my favorite Echo Park collection "For the Record" for this card and love the way it turned out. Added a little hand-stitching along the edges, embellished each tag with lot of elementary stickers from different Echo Park Collection and had the most fun writing those 10 things about DH. It made me fell so ble…

Gond Painting !!

Wishing you all a very happy holi !! Its a colorful spring festival celebrated here in India and I wish that it brings lots of happiness and good things in life for all of you!

And on this colorful occasion, I thought I'd share something different and something close to my heart with you all. I have been crafting right from when I was a little kid and I have always loved to explore different forms of art and craft one of which being the traditional folk art of India.

India has a very rich culture when it comes to art and off late I have been hooked to giving all different forms of folk art a try. After I tried my hands at Madhubani last year which is a folk art from the state of Bihar, I am now hooked to another tribal art form called Gond from the states of Central India (Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh)

I love the way these Gond Paintings look. They are simple and yet so detailed. Its all about filling in the everyday life motifs with dots, dashes and lines.
