Good times!!

Happy Friday!! Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? I haven't decided on anything just yet but might go out for a nice dinner or something :)

**Please be gentle on me. This is my first ever layout :)

I have been thinking about doing layouts for quite some time now but never thought I had any real talent there :) (Also, I really low on storage area) But off late, I am having the strangest luck with pattern papers. I seem to win all the pattern paper giveaways and contests and have yummy papers all around me these days :D So I thought it was high time I started using them (I heard you, Tejal :) ) So here is my first ever layout for you.

Supplies: papers: Studio Calico State Fair Collection(cotton candy, pie contest);stamps: Ippity(Delightful Little Things, Fall for you); ink: Momento (Tuxedo Black, lady bug),Rub-ons & thickers & gems

I am using the Sunday Sketch at Studio Calico, the theme from Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge#53 - Girls just wanna have fun and the inspiration from the April Inspiration at Ippity blog - I took the fan flowers from the photo.

This is a photograph of me and my best buddy and room-mate of 3 years in college. We were the naughtiest and craziest people there and those were certainly the best days of our lives :) Its a 12X12 layout and I am thinking of getting it framed and gifting it to my sweet friend on friendship day. What do you think? Would that be a good idea? I would love to hear from you.

Do you think I have any talent for layouts? Should I do them in future?

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

  8. Lovely layout lady(LLL)! I think it would be a perfect friendship day gift for your friend. Hostel life does leave us with wonderful memories. When you spend 24/7 with someone who is not your family, it forms a beautiful bond. Sometimes even the word friendship doesnt seem enough.

Diwali Wishes

Hello people!! The weekend is so near that it makes me happy already :D Finally I started on my Diwali cards for this year. I know I am terribly late but I am trying to make it up. For my readers who aren't aware of the Diwali festival, Diwali is known as the festival of lights and one of the biggest festivals in India signifying the victory of good over evil. This year we are celebrating Diwali on 5 November. We celebrate by decorating our houses, lighting candle, fireworks, lots of good food, and lots and lots of sweets (I love this part :D)

Okay now enough of blabbering, here is a card a made for the Moxie Fab World Challenge - Perfectly Placed Pleats  and Speedy the Cat's Friend's Challenge - Stitching

Look how the paper pleats make for the cutest candles. Doesn't that stitched sentiment look pretty too?

After I made one and liked it, I went crazy experimenting with colors, size, and various different things :D
Here is another variations I came up with.

10 things I love about you..

...thats what I told my DH yesterday as it was our engagement anniversary. One year back on 16th of May, we got engaged and I wanted to gift him something special and different and that is when I stumbled upon Monicka Wright's blog and decided to case her wonderful note card. I took the colors from Smidapaper May Color Challenge, polka dot theme from Lawnscaping Challenge. And I am also playing along Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge#56 - Get Sticky.

Supplies: papers: Echo Park Papers(For the Record);embellishment: Element stickers from Echo Park Springtime collection, Little Girl, For the Record, Walk in the Park, Twine from the twinery(charcoal)
I used one of my favorite Echo Park collection "For the Record" for this card and love the way it turned out. Added a little hand-stitching along the edges, embellished each tag with lot of elementary stickers from different Echo Park Collection and had the most fun writing those 10 things about DH. It made me fell so ble…

Gond Painting !!

Wishing you all a very happy holi !! Its a colorful spring festival celebrated here in India and I wish that it brings lots of happiness and good things in life for all of you!

And on this colorful occasion, I thought I'd share something different and something close to my heart with you all. I have been crafting right from when I was a little kid and I have always loved to explore different forms of art and craft one of which being the traditional folk art of India.

India has a very rich culture when it comes to art and off late I have been hooked to giving all different forms of folk art a try. After I tried my hands at Madhubani last year which is a folk art from the state of Bihar, I am now hooked to another tribal art form called Gond from the states of Central India (Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh)

I love the way these Gond Paintings look. They are simple and yet so detailed. Its all about filling in the everyday life motifs with dots, dashes and lines.
