Make a wish!!

Hey look weekend is here and as always I am happy, happy. So I will share a card which is not really my style but still I like it :)
Why it is not my style? Well, first of all it is CAS, then it is pink, without embellishments and above all it is masculine :D I hope you get the idea.

Nothing much to explain about this one. I used the flourishes stamp from the Kids Play Set, layered with white and raised it using foam dots for dimension.
I am covering a number of challenges I came across with this one.
SmidaPaper - Pink Masculine Card
ColorQ - Pink, White, Black
FTTC90 - No buttons & bows

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

Diwali Cards continued...

Happy weekend to all the wonderful people out there!! Hope you are having a good time. Today I am again sharing some Diwali cards with you all. I will start with more of the paper pleated candles for Moxie Fab World - Perfectly Placed Pleats Challenge.

As I said in my last post I experimented a lot with pleated candles. Hope now you have a better idea about what I meant :D

Next card is for Smita's Challenge at Yvonne's Blog - Ribbon technique & No Stamping. Since I am making Diwali cards with candles on them these days, I thought I will give a try to something new. And here it is

See, I made candles with ribbon stitching and hand drew the candle flames and the sentiment. I picked the colors from DieCutDreams#70 - Orange and Pink for this one. What do you say? You Likey?

Last but not the least, I am re-posting my first Christmas Card for Amy's Flashback Friday 4.0

I started my blog this year in February and this is the first Christmas card I posted on 18 September.

Wow, four cards in a single post. I hope you are still awake and it wasn't a long, boring post :D

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

Diwali Wishes

Hello people!! The weekend is so near that it makes me happy already :D Finally I started on my Diwali cards for this year. I know I am terribly late but I am trying to make it up. For my readers who aren't aware of the Diwali festival, Diwali is known as the festival of lights and one of the biggest festivals in India signifying the victory of good over evil. This year we are celebrating Diwali on 5 November. We celebrate by decorating our houses, lighting candle, fireworks, lots of good food, and lots and lots of sweets (I love this part :D)

Okay now enough of blabbering, here is a card a made for the Moxie Fab World Challenge - Perfectly Placed Pleats  and Speedy the Cat's Friend's Challenge - Stitching

Look how the paper pleats make for the cutest candles. Doesn't that stitched sentiment look pretty too?

After I made one and liked it, I went crazy experimenting with colors, size, and various different things :D
Here is another variations I came up with.

I know I went crazy with stitching too :D It was so much fun.
And so I got a set of these gift cards and I am putting it up for Flourishes Bring Back Beautiful October Challenge - Gift Sets

Hope you like it (them)!!Thank you for visiting!!

WISH !!

Popping in to share a card I made today (Actually I made 6 :D, will share in the next post ). I  used the Card Pattern Sketch#86 and the colors from ColorQ for this one. This one is a bit out of my style as you might have noticed but I enjoyed making it. I made and used accordion flowers (not the best looking though) for the first time for Sherryann Eckblad's Challenge at Yvonne blog. This card also fits the current FTTC89 - focus on the sentiment.

A bit of hand stitching, distressing, a pin wheel bow and accordion flowers.

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

Little One!!

Hello people!! Hope you all had a beautiful weekend and I am so sad that its coming to an end. I thought to share a card I made for the Embellish Magazine Felt Challenge and Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge - Celebrating Good Times.

Here is my little card

I am still in CAS mood :D. I used a cute felt lion and pink gemstones on this one.

I would also like to share the RAK I received from Lucy. I am so overwhelmed with her sweet gesture. She asked me to do a bit of crafting shopping for her and as a token of thanks she has send me such beautiful things.

Did you notice that little note she had put in the card? It says "May all the thoughtful things you do for others be returned to you tenfold." Now, how sweet is that?

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

Clean and Simple!!

I did it again :D. I am finally making some CAS cards and I like them. I have been always amazed at people making CAS cards and feeling I will never be able to do it. But now I am learning and trying to give it a shot.

This time I picked the colors from Curtain Call Color Challenge(ACT 51)  and Crazy 4 Challenges C4C58 theme birthday and whipped up this card.

A Jenni Bowling Butterfly, flourishes sentiment, some twine and a button was all I needed to finish this one.
I am putting this up for Annabelle Stamps Blog challenge "Say it with...No DP" and CCCB week26 - Take Flight.

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

Butterflies!!

Hello people!! Hope you are good!! I am going through those days when you feel sooo bored that you don't want to do anything and I really mean it *sigh*. The story is that I was bored of work so I took a break and now when I am on break, I am bored of it too. And in this process of getting bored I discovered or more appropriately re-discovered....That we humans will always be unsatisfied no matter what we get :D

So after all the cribbing, I would like to share a card I made for Mojo Monday #159 using the colors of PDCC50.

I stamped the smART butterfly rubber stamp with orange pigment ink. Then I cut one out and raised it using foam dots. Distressed the edges and added some faux stitching.

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

Challenges galore!!

Hope your Sunday is going as well as mine!! Today me and my DH completed 3 beautiful months of married life and we have a little celebration planned for the evening *wink* .

And the card I am sharing now is a very special one because I am completely in love with it :) and I played a number of challenges also. I used the sketch over at Taylored Expression Sketch #130, color Orange from the Fashionista Friday #49, color Brown from smArt-Word Challenge, colors from FTTC86 - green, brown, orange, cream, Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge#23 - button and bow and the Hero Arts Weekend Challenge WCMD2010 of using your favorite colors(Go over and play and you might get lucky to win some awesome Hero Arts Stamps).

I used my newly bought smART rubber stamp for this card. I cut out the circle above the owl's head and placed a yellow paper beneath. The edges of the cream paper is torn and distressed with a black ink. I finished it with a green button and twine bow.

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

Joy!!

Its Friday and always a day of joy for me with the anticipation of a fabulous weekend :D

I love the colors in the card I am sharing today - green, orange, brown and cream which I took from FTTC86. The Sketch and the theme of leaves is from LimeLight Paper Crafts Challenge56 and the inspiration comes from the photo at Simon Says Stamps Challenge - Autumn

And here is my card

I have used a paper doily for the first time and I loved using it!! I distressed the edges with orange ink, hand cut the leaves and painted them using acrylic colors (since I didn't have those colors in my paper stash). The  sentiment is a rub - on from Hobby Ideas.

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

EDITED: This card is featured on the CARDS Magazine blog here.

My first altered Item :)

which I created for  Julie Elak's 3D creation/altered item challenge at Yvonne blog. What I love about her challenges is that they are always different and make you try things you have never done before.

For this challenge, I tried altering an item for the first time and I chose to alter a wedding invite to create a folder. (I forgot to take the picture of the invite before I started altering it otherwise you could get a better idea of what I did. )

I used some colored pages to cover the front. The invite already had a window in the center where I chose to put my image (a cute one :))

Added the frame to the window with different shades of pink. Colored the image in some non-traditional colors and added some doodling on the border. Here is a closer look at the doodling

To finish, I added a Jenni Bowling chipboard button, some twine and a hand written sentiment.

For the inside, I create pockets to hold things and kept the colors same as on the front.
Here is the inside of the folder

Recently, I was having trouble keeping my rub-ons and stickers organised (I never found the one I needed on time) and I think this folder should solve my problem. Look at the angry owlie screaming "Stay Together" ...lol :D

Here is a picture with some of my rub-ons in it
