Fly High!!

Hello everyone!! Hope your week is going great !! Just a quick post to share my card for the Card Pattern Sketch #83. I have rotated the sketch 180 degrees :D

I first stamped on the lilac paper using my rolling stamp in blue ink. Then tore the stamped paper in strips, inked the edges with blue and pasted it on another lilac sheet. Then I cut out the clouds and highlighted them with white gel pen. Added a twine to the kite and some ribbon scraps. I created the tag and the sentiment is hand written and  its done :)

Inspired by nature!!

I always am...the beautiful trees..leaves...flower...the possibilities are endless!! So when I saw that the Challenge at CraftyJC Challenge Blog for the next month is to pick up any DT's choice of inspiration..I immediately took Sudha's inspiration NATURE :D and then I found the Get Sketchy #57 which was perfect for my little adventure :)
Here is what I whipped up

A simple, elegant card with flowers made of yarn and a rub-on from Hobby Ideas.
Since all the pretty flowers here are handmade, I would also like to put it up for Paper Romance Challenge #17 - Handmade Flowers

Note: I didn't get the chance to put my DT creation for the I Did It Creation Challenge due to unavoidable reasons but you can always go and play along. The challenge this week is to make ATC (I know there are a lot of ATC lovers out there :D). So what are you waiting for!! Go and get playing!!

Thanks!!

To all the wonderful people for appreciating my work and supporting me!! There can never be enough "Thank You" cards to convey how much I treasure all of you!! I hope you are starting with a beautiful weekend :)

I am playing two challenges for the first time with the card I am showing today. First is the s'Sketches #29 - you will find some great sketches and lot of wonderful inspiration here. Second is the YNS Challenge #25 - Give Thanks !! Also  I was so inspired by the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger this week - The Pattern, Rich colors and all the hand embroidery...its amazing!!

Here is my card..

I have hand cut all the octagons, punched out the flowers, did a bit of embroidery on them (thats a lot of task because the flowers were so small and fragile), faux stitching on the octagons and yes a hand written sentiment!!  This would be one of my favorite cards - clean and simple :D

Celebrate...

for you live once !! ok ok...I couldn't think of anything else to start this post with :D Please bear with me!!

Here is a quick card I wanted to share today. I made this for the CPS #185, it had been a long time since I played. Also I wanted to play the FTTC85 where the theme is celebrate.

I used 2 pattern papers which had been lying with me for ages. These are some very good quality paper I laid my hands on (very rare to find in India !!)  Hand cut the stars and added some faux (for the background) and some real hand stitching (on the stars)..little buttons and wrote the sentiment on the top!!

Orange, Scalloped and frosted!!

Thats right!! I did some (ok..a lot :D) faux frosting on this one. I had this one in mind for a long time and I finally found the challenges which it perfectly fits in. The first one being The Ribbon Girls Challenge of using black, white and orange. The next one is Wee Memories Challenge #23 S.O.S (Scallops, Orange, Strings) out of which we need to incorporate any two. I had wanted to play along Wee Memories for quite sometime and I am glad I finally got a chance. And then I found the Card Pattern Sketch 82 which was perfect for my little card here.
For this one, I drew the pattern for the background, frosted the leaves and the scallops, added the handmade leaf pins and some liquid pearls.

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

I don't have much to say but I completely enjoyed coloring the flower :).

P.S. Thanks to Mandy at Limelight Paper Crafts for picking my Christmas card as one of the favorites. I am a happy girl :D

Happy Sunday!!

Happy Sunday, peeps!! Its Sunday and that means there's a new challenge over at I did it Creations Challenge Blog with the New Design Team and that includes me :D. The theme this week is Keep it Simple and I got to work with this fabulous digi image from Trees Award called Apple Harvest. I colored the image with water colors and let it take the center stage. The sketch is from the Annabelle Sketch Challenge #29 with Bling and the inspiration came from Stamping Vacation Challenge Inspiration Photo

Here is a close up at the colored image

Did you like it? If you did, then hop over to the I did it creations Challenge blog and play along. The fun part is that you can request your choice of one image used by the DT as freebie from Jeanette. Can it get any better? yes it can....Jeanette is also running a contest "Name that Weds Feature Page"..now if your question is "what is it?" ...you need to go and find out yourself :)

Hope you like it!!Thanks for visiting!!

Is it ME?

Is it really me making a CAS card(well, I think it IS pretty CAS) and that too for Christmas? As far as I can remember..in the 26 years of my life(oops did I just leak out my age :D) I have made 2 Christmas Cards...not that I don't like Christmas or making Christmas cards but its just that my family and relatives don't follow Christmas that much :)  and I don't have anyone to pass them to. But this year is different, I have some wonderful blog friends from all around the world and the Christmas cards would be able to see the mailbox :).

Anyways, here is the card I made based on Limelight Paper Craft Sketch #56 - Tags. As soon as I saw the sketch I knew I had to play along. Simple and beautiful sketch!! And yes Christmas card was on my list for Moxie Fab World Jolly Holiday Greetings Challenge but not this one (you might see other Christmas cards popping up on my blog soon)... I just happened to be sorting my ribbons last night and I noticed that ric rac -silver,red and green(had been sitting in the ribbon box for ages) perfect for making a Christmas Tree...and voila!! Here is my card...

I hand cut the tag and added that gift box(I love it) . Added the trunk of the tree using silver foil and wrote that sentiment. Love the little star on the top of the tree :)

P.S. Click on the image for the better view of the tree, sentiment and the tag.

I am also putting this one for Our Daily Bread Design Blog - White and Bright

Simple and Scalloped !!

Happy Friday Friends!! Weekend is almost here and I am happy happy :D. A quick card to be shared with you all today. This one is for the Embellish Paper Piecing Color Challenge which has a gorgeous color palette to use this week. Here is the inspiration photo

And here is my card...

I have used the MOJO156 Sketch for this card and paper pieced the entire background. This card looks simple (and elegant..if I may add :D) but it was quite a task for me because I didn't have papers with those colors in my stash. So I used my acrylic colors on a white  textured paper to get the colors and used a bit of glitter on the scalloped edges(Offset Scallop Gallop Challenge at Moxie Fab World). The satin flower is handmade (Thanks to Juhi for a wonderful tutorial) and therefore it also goes for Alota DIY Flower Challenge 43.

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

Spotlight !!

yeah ...thats a new technique I learnt recently for the FTTC84. It requires a bit of work but is so much fun. There is a tutorial for you here. Look for yourself...

I got back to drawing the scalloped pattern again...I somehow love it :D Another reason for doing it was the Offset Scallop Gallop challenge at Moxie Fab World.

And a big Thanks to Juhi for passing this lovely award to me. This is the first one for me...thanks a ton girl!!

I need to pass on this award to other people and I will do that in my next post. I have to get back to work now :D

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

A special little guy!!

Hello All!!

I Did It Creations Challenges has a very special challenge for you this week...We are challenging you to make a special "Rainbow Themed" card - Anything goes type of challenge, but must have a rainbow or the colors of a rainbow in your creation.  The reason for this Rainbow challenge is in honor of a very special little guy named Cameron.  If you click on the badge below, you can read his story...

For the Love of Cameron

A little History and the reason for this Super Challenge this week...
A very very good friend of Stitchy's who is known in the digital world by the name  "FUNKY" , has built a beautiful fundraiser blog for her grandson Cameron..He is autistic and Funky and her daughter are striving to help Cameron..
Some of you may know Funky, she has been in the digital scrapping world for a very long time.  If  you could find it in your heart to help Funky and her little guy out, it will not go unrewarded.  We know times are very hard for everyone right now, so if you can't give even a dollar, please don't feel bad, but please do go and read his story, he's quite a character lol..Thank you in advance all that take part in this very special challenge - have fun & good luck!!!

For a fun challenge, prizes and a freebie all for a good cause....see I Did It Creations Challenges for complete details.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And now onto a very special card!! Special because it is for a special challenge blog I love and that is CASE Study which is run by some of the most talented crafter around. Ever since wonderful Chupa started this challenge I had wanted to play but didn't had the courage (these ladies produce such master pieces that i knew I could never match their talent :) ) but after resisting 4 challenges....I couldn't resist any longer and here I am with my first ever CASEd card :D

From Mariana Grigsby chosen card this week, I took the colors (The closet hues I had in my stash), the flowers (digital image colored with water colors), the embossed background (my long forgotten beautiful embossed paper came to the rescue), pearls (I love the effect they add), and polka dot ribbon.
I raised the flowers using foam dots and loved the effect. Here is a closer look

I made this card with Flourishes 3rd birthday bash and Flourishes Timeless Tuesday 83 - create your own tickets in mind and so without further ado here it is.

A Day of Joy

Well Friday's are always a day of joy for me because after 4 days of hectic work it feels rejuvenating to anticipate the weekend :D.

I had wanted to play the current Tuesday Trigger - Light and Bright at Moxie Fab World. Here is the inspiration

And here is my card. I was inspired by the serenity of blue and white and a pop of brightness the other colors add.

And if you are wondering about the pattern paper I have used....Well its hand drawn with white gel pen :D
because that is the challenge at Practical Scrappers this week - Use a White Gel Pen !!
I completed the card with a pearl pin, a fab Jenni Bowling button (Oh how I love it !! Thanks to Kathy ) and a Flourishes Stamp.

Thanks for visiting!! Hope you like it!!

Thank You

Hello!!
This is going to be a quick post because I need to be at work and I am already late :D

Anyways, I just couldn't get enough of Yvonne Challenge of making your own background and made this second card using the same technique. The technique has been shared by a very talented Karen and ohh how I loved it :D

Here is a close up at the grid background.(Unexpectedly, my stamping came out much neater than expected :) and allowed me to share a close up)

And here is a close at the handwritten sentiment :)

Psst....Did you notice the sparkling hand made flowers? *wink*

I used the current sketch at CPS#182 for this one.

*Edited* I am also entering this card for Stamping Vacation- Fountain of Youth Challenge which is to include leaf or leaves on your card.

Hope you liked it!! Thanks for visiting!!
