LOVE (Item Id#1135)

Happy Friday to everyone out there!!

Quick post to share another card using the CPS #168 and the Embellish Butterflies Color Challenge.

I tried hands at the yarn flowers after being inspired from the super talented Ann from All things Paper. She even has a tutorial on the same here. Although my flowers aren't good as hers but I couldn't resist venturing into the unknown one more time :)

The butterfly is hand drawn and here is a close up

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

Finally I did.... (Item ID#1134)

QUILLING !! yes its true... I don't know for how long I have been following all the sites with little or more information on quilling but couldn't come to try it out. This time I finally did it :) It isn't very great but at least I gathered some courage to try.

When I saw this week's Etsy Inspired Challenge #89 - Made by Michelle Brusegaard with these creations, I had decided I wanted to quill those poppies

Aren't they adorable? Then I took the sketch from GS#39 and CardPattern #65 (my luck couldn't get any better) and the colors from Stacey's Curtain Call Color challenge #31 and when I combined all of these I got this

ok now...please don't laugh on my quilling :D I know it isn't really great but I hope you all like the card anyway ;)  please let me know...

Updated: I am also entering this card for Sketch and Stash Challenge which with a great coincidence (or should I say miracle :) ) has a similar sketch to follow and new is the Jenni Bowlin butterfly which I received last week and neglected is the pretty stitched background paper (only I can forget about such a pretty paper owing to my goldfish memory :D ).

Also, I wanted to share a wedding invite or I must say Indian Wedding Invite :)  in this post. Here we go

All my Indian friends will find this invite familiar but for my international friends - In India, when we start anything new, be it new business or new house, we consider worshiping Lord Ganesha auspicious and so you will find most of the wedding card invites with Lord Ganesha on the cover. I hope that explains Lord Ganesha sitting happily on the front of my wedding invite :)

Here is the inside

I wanted to do something different on this invite but I didn't quite like the result. Let me know what you think about it and if you have any ideas or suggestions please let me know. I am in need of some Indian Wedding Invite Ideas :)

Hope you like it!!Thanks for visiting!!

Am I lucky??

I guess I am :)) because I received theses Jenni Bowlin goodies today that Kathy from Digital Doodles sent me.

And I have fallen in love with these red vintage buttons and butterflies. They are sooo cute. Thanks a ton Kathy!!

I do not normally win anything but past month has been really lucky for me. I also won these gorgeous crochet flowers at The Crazy Challenge

Then I won couple of challenges at Countless Joys by Katherine with this card and this card. She had also send me a gift over a month back but I am yet to receive it, not sure where it got stuck in the mail :(( . The other gift I should be receiving from her is this

I wish I receive all the goodies soon. I am dying to put all of it to use:)

Thanks for visiting!!

I {heart} You (Item Id#1133)

Happy Weekend to all you lovely people out there!! Hope you all have some great plans for this weekend. As for me, I got to work today as well...poor me !!  :((
Just to make myself feel better and come out of the gloomy feeling of working on a weekend, I made a little cheerful card with lots of colors. I used the lovely sketch over at Sketch Girl and just followed my heart....I guess thats the reason for so many hearts on a single

I went green again with this card(not and used newspaper and bottle corks. I used pearls for the first time and loved the effect!!

Updated : With so much happening around in my life, I completely forgot to write that this is my last GDT submission for Challenge Up Your Life. I had so much fun playing along and being a part of the design team. All the 4 challenges that I played during my stay as GD were so diverse and such a learning experience. And I am glad that the challenge for the next 2 weeks is "Recycling". You all know how I love to reuse and recycle :))

So its time to think out of the box, keeping an eye on what you can use as your craft supply from around the house ( just like I do :))  ) and play along. There are some fabulous goodies to be won by the winner.

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

Black & White (Item Id#1132)

Hello Everybody!!

Hope you all are good and happy!! I know I have been missing from the blog-land for over a week but then I had so much going on around. I will share the details of what I have been up to a little later :)  As of now I want to share a simple card I made for CPS sketch #167 . I have cased one of Joanne's card from Mainly Flowers. I just love her cards and paper flowers.

I recently received my craft supplies from itsy bitsy which included these metallic paper flowers and I used some basic grey brads to complete the flowers. I also want to put it for Papertake Weekly Challenge (Say it flowers).

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

A Friend is a Joy (Item Id#1131)

Happy weekend to all you lovely people out there!!

Today I want to share my GD card for Challenge Up Your Life. The challenge for the next 2 weeks is to use a resist technique and I really found it interesting. For my card I used the Crayon Resist Technique and I used it to color the flowers on my card. The center of the flowers was first filled in with crayons and then I inked up the flower(freebie from MARJORIE) using sponge. The crayon filled part resisted the color. I did the same with leaves. (enlarge to see details).

The sentiment is handwritten as always. I want to play along a few more challenges with this card. The first being Sentimental Sundays - Someone Special (Friends are always special people in our lives) and the next is Lili of the Valley - Here comes Summer (the colors and flowers certainly speak summer in my card)

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

Vintage Rose (Item ID#1130)

Hope you all are good!! Just a quick post to share a quick card :)
I have wanted to do a vintage card for quite sometime and this is it, I finally did it :)

Again I used my favorite PP and that is  The image is from a site I discovered recently (will post the link soon). I made the roses with satin ribbon. I didn't want to add too much embellishment and spoil the picture so just kept it simple.

This is for Cowgirl's Sunday Challenge (Spring)

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!
